WHO WE ARE

As an independent scientific panel our main objective is to provide science-based knowledge on global issues of responsible plant nutrition, to industry and other stakeholders involved in food and agriculture. We synthesize evidence, discuss controversial issues, advice on research, outreach and policy needs, and contribute to global assessments of nutrient use efficiency and future fertilizer demand, including plant nutrition performance indicators. We also select the winners of the annual Norman Borlaug Award for excellence in crop nutrition research (or outreach), which is sponsored by IFA, the International Fertilizer Association.

Panel members serve in a personal capacity, with IFA providing logistical and financial support for the Panel’s activities. Opinions expressed in our publications do not necessarily reflect the position of all Panel members or the organizations that employ them.
